Terms of Use

What holding an ONZU Family Account means, in plain English.

1. Who we are

ONZU is operated by THREESIXNINEBIZ PTY LTD (ABN 69 667 951 224), referred to as "ONZU", "we", "us" and "our". These Terms are a contract between us and the adult who creates a Family Account. Our contact for account, billing and legal matters is support@onzu.app, and our postal address is 5 Frederick Street, St Peters NSW 2044, Australia.

2. Who can hold an account

You must be at least 18. By creating a Family Account and adding a child you confirm that you are that child's parent or guardian, or that you have their parent's or guardian's authority to add them, to supply their information and to choose the features they use. Children never agree to these Terms and never see them. Every obligation here sits with the grown-ups.

3. Looking after the account

Keep your email, password and any device PIN private and take reasonable care with them. You are responsible for use of the account by you and by the grown-ups you invite, and for choosing invitees you trust. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access, and we will help you secure it. Account contact details must be accurate, because they are how we reach you about renewals, safety and changes.

4. Players, children and other grown-ups

Each child plays under a private player profile with a nickname, a school year and an avatar. You may give a player a sign-in name and password so they can play on other devices. Photo avatars are optional. Only add a photo of a child if you have the authority described in section 2. A photo avatar is stored with the player's account data and is not public or visible to other families.

Grown-ups you invite can see every player's progress, rewards and settings in the family and can change year levels and Word Packs. Only the account owner controls billing, moving a player to another family, exporting data and deleting players or the family. If you move a player to another family with a move code, that family receives the player's profile, progress, rewards and pets. You are responsible for having the authority to move a child. Where two adults dispute authority over a child's profile we follow the process in the Privacy Policy and do not decide custody questions.

5. What ONZU is, and is not

ONZU supports practice in maths, spelling and high-school readiness for Years 3 to 6. It does not replace a teacher, a school assessment, a diagnosis or professional advice. We improve activities, rewards and progress views over time. If we make a change that substantially removes something you are paying for, we tell the account owner at least 30 days ahead, and you can cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of any unused prepaid period. If we close the service we give at least 60 days' notice and refund unused prepaid time.

6. Your free trial

Every new family gets one free trial of ONZU Family Premium for the number of days shown when you start it. We do not ask for a card to start the trial. When the trial ends we charge nothing, unless you chose a plan during the trial, in which case the first payment you authorised at checkout is taken on the date shown to you then. After the trial your family keeps its progress, pets and rewards and you can still sign in and see them, but practice needs a paid plan. There is no free plan.

We email the account owner with required account and trial lifecycle notices, including when the trial ends. These service notices form part of the trial and do not depend on your marketing email choice. Optional trial progress emails, follow-up offers and other marketing emails depend on that choice.

7. Plans and renewal

ONZU Family Premium is a subscription for one family. The number of children it covers, the monthly and annual prices and the billing dates are shown at checkout before you pay. All prices are in Australian dollars and include GST where it applies.

Both plans renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Before an annual renewal we email the account owner at least 14 days ahead with the amount and the date. If we change a price we email you at least 30 days before it applies, and it applies only from your next renewal. Switching between monthly and annual takes effect immediately with a pro-rata adjustment; the billing portal shows the amount before you confirm.

8. Founding offer

From time to time we run a founding offer: a limited number of families receive a discount on their first annual payment, after which the plan renews at the standard annual price shown at checkout. A founding offer applies to the annual plan only, once per family, for families who have not subscribed before. It cannot be transferred or combined with other offers. If a founding purchase is refunded, that place is used and is not reissued. The discount, the number of places and the code are shown where the offer is made.

9. Cancelling

Cancel any time from the Family Account, or by emailing support@onzu.app from the account owner's address if you cannot sign in. Cancelling stops future payments. Your family keeps Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for, then returns to the state described in section 6. Cancelling does not itself delete anything; your data stays under the Privacy Policy until you delete it or it reaches the end of its retention period.

10. Our 30-day refund promise

Our voluntary refund promise covers your first subscription payment and each annual renewal payment, provided you tell us within 30 days of that payment. We refund the payment in full. No questions, no forms. A refund ends the subscription, cancels future charges and ends Premium access when the refund is issued. Other monthly renewal payments are outside this voluntary promise; your Australian Consumer Law rights still apply to every payment. Refunds go back to the payment method you used, usually within 5 to 10 business days. Data is never deleted as part of a refund.

To request a refund, email support@onzu.app from the account owner's address.

11. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law

Our refund promise is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. If a service fails to meet a guarantee you are entitled to remedies, including a refund, and nothing in these Terms limits those rights.

12. Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. ONZU never sees or stores card details. You can update your payment method, switch plans or cancel through the billing portal in the Family Account, or by email if the portal is unavailable. If a payment fails we tell you and retry for 7 days; if it still fails, Premium features pause until payment succeeds. Nothing is deleted because a payment fails. If you delete the family account while a subscription is active, the subscription is cancelled and section 10 applies to any eligible payment.

13. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another family's account or data, interfere with safety controls, reverse-engineer the service, use it for anything unlawful, or use it in a way that harms a child. Grown-ups must use the child-facing features in a way that is appropriate for their family.

14. Your content and ours

Word Packs, nicknames and avatars you create stay yours. You give us permission to store and display them inside your family's account so the service works. Everything else in ONZU, including the questions, artwork, characters, names and code, belongs to ONZU or its licensors and stays ours. You may not copy or redistribute it.

15. Safety, suspension and closing accounts

We may limit or suspend access where we reasonably believe it is needed to protect children, families or the service, or for serious misuse. We act proportionately: where we can, we tell you what happened and how to respond, and you can ask us to review the decision at support@onzu.app. If we close a paid account for reasons other than serious misuse, we refund unused prepaid time. Safety decisions are recorded so that deleting and recreating a profile cannot bypass them; the Privacy Policy says how long.

16. Ending use and deletion

You can delete a single player or the whole family from the Family Account. Deleted learning data can be restored for 30 days; after that it is deleted or de-identified on the schedule in the Privacy Policy, which also says which records we keep longer, and why.

17. Our responsibility to you

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and A$100. We are not liable for loss caused by things outside our reasonable control. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded.

18. Changes to these Terms

If we change these Terms in a way that affects your rights or what you pay for, we publish the new version with its date, email the account owner at least 30 days ahead, and ask the owner to accept it before it applies. If you do not accept, you can cancel and section 5 applies to unused prepaid time. Minor changes that do not affect your rights take effect when published; the current version and date are always shown on this page.

19. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@onzu.app; most things are sorted out in a reply. Nothing here stops you from using a court or tribunal in your state or territory.
