One minute, once per device

Put ONZU on their home screen

ONZU is a web app: there is no app store download. Adding it to the home screen once makes it open full screen like any other app, with its own icon next to their games. That icon is what makes ten minutes a day happen without a grown-up typing an address.

✓ You're reading this inside the installed app. This device is already done.

The fridge-note version: open onzu.app in the browser on your child's device, tap Share (iPad and iPhone) or the menu (Android), choose Add to Home Screen. Do it once per device your child uses.

On an iPad

1
Open onzu.app in Safari

Then tap the Share square at the top right.

2
Tap "Add to Home Screen"

Scroll the list a little if you don't see it.

3
That's it

ONZU now lives next to their games, and opens full screen without Safari.

On an iPhone

  1. Open onzu.app in Safari, then tap the Share square — on an iPhone it sits in the bottom bar.
  2. Scroll the sheet and tap Add to Home Screen .
  3. Tap Add. Same three taps, different corner.

On an Android tablet or phone

  1. Open onzu.app in Chrome. If an Install or Add ONZU to Home screen banner appears, tap it and you're done.
  2. Otherwise tap the ⋮ menu at the top right, then Add to Home screen (on newer Chrome it says Install app).
  3. Confirm. Android may place the icon itself or let you drag it.

Why bother?

Because the icon does the asking. A bookmark three taps deep gets opened when someone remembers. An icon next to Minecraft gets opened because it's there. ONZU also starts faster from the home screen, fills the whole screen with no browser bars, and keeps working through dropped wifi once it has loaded.

Progress never lives on the device: it follows the player sign-in. So a child can have the icon on the family iPad and a school device, and both open the same maps, pets and rewards. If a device is replaced, add the icon again and sign in; nothing is lost.
