Transition Quest
The move to high school is the biggest change in a primary schooler's life, and schools run whole programs preparing for it. Transition Quest turns that preparation into ten-minute practice rounds, with the strictest guardrails in the app.
The four tracks
How a round works
Eight scenarios per round. Most are "tap the strongest move"; some are put the steps in order (packing a bag, a homework session), and Practice Day includes reading an actual timetable. A wrong pick highlights the better answer and shows a one-line why, such as "New students get lost. Teachers know. A quiet apology closes it in five seconds.", because in this quest the explanation is the entire point.
The guardrails
What this quest will never do
- No mood tracking, no anxiety scores, no journalling. Questions assess strategies ("what's a strong next step?"), never feelings ("how anxious are you?").
- No personal disclosures. Every scenario is about a fictional situation, not your child's life.
- No therapy cosplay. It rewards calm problem-solving, asking trusted adults, and preparing early, the same messages schools teach, and nothing beyond that.
- Feelings are never marked wrong. Being nervous AND excited is presented as the normal state it is; only the chosen strategy is assessed.
Progress and rewards
Transition Quest keeps its own Ready Level (120 Ready XP per level) and its own badges: First Step, Calm Captain, Brave Voice, Plan Ahead, Practice Day, High School Ready. It deliberately awards fewer coins than the academic quests and no pet food: it should feel valuable, not farmable.
Optional and deliberately separate
Transition Quest appears for profiles set to Year 6. Its sessions are recorded in the activity calendar, but they do not advance the core day streak, Daily Bonus Challenges, care items, regular-pet growth or Celestial Guardian growth. Maths and Spelling are sufficient for every shared reward path. The future purchase model for this optional quest has not been set.
